HALEY WAUGH

Pronouns: she/her

Haley holds a B.A. in Communication Studies from California State University, Sacramento. Before arriving at Animal Place, Haley served in a variety of senior staff roles at an open-admission animal shelter. While this work was very rewarding, she realized she wanted to expand her work to help more than just cats and dogs, so she made the transition to Animal Place. Haley shares her home with her partner Brady and their many animal companions (4 cats, 4 dogs, 1 hamster, 2 hens, and an always-changing group of foster animals). She has a special interest in caring and advocating for special needs animals and has fostered more than 350 animals.

Senior coordinator

Beth Carper-Gonzalez

Pronouns: they/them

During their B.S. studies in Animal Science at Purdue University, Beth's exposure to the realities of factory farming led to their adoption of a vegan lifestyle. They later earned a Master of Arts in Humane Education from Valparaiso University and began working in animal advocacy as Operations Manager at a local humane society. Recognizing a community need, Beth founded a rescue for reptiles, amphibians, and exotic animals. Beth currently lives in Indiana with their rescued animal companions, Petree, Summer, and Groot. They enjoy gardening, hiking, and indulging in vegan junk food while watching anime or true crime shows.
